Thomas Andrew Cook, age 81, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA.
Tom, a native of Allen County, Kentucky was born on April 27, 1939 to the late Willie Carline Cook and Wavie Lena Willoughby Cook. As a young man Tom joined the United States Navy and ended up in Jacksonville where he met and married Norma Godwin Cook. His time in the Navy was precious years and he maintained lifelong friendships (Larry Warren). Tom retired from Occidental (PCS) where he worked as a heavy equipment supervisor. He was an avid arrowhead collector, which of course was made easier by his love of the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. Tom especially enjoyed family time. As “Pop-Pop” he was known as “the best story teller and the wisest man alive”. He would never forget his roots in Kentucky and spent months at the time at his home there, often having to jokingly be reminded that he had a home in Florida. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Larry Cook and a nephew Carline Cook.
