Tena Kay Reed

Scottsville

Tena Kay Reed, born December 16, 1963, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on June 10, 2026, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a cherished soul whose warmth, determination, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Tena was a devoted sales associate at Walmart, a position in which she exemplified dedication and kindness. She possessed an associate degree in business, reflecting her commitment to personal growth and professional development. Beyond her career, Tena’s spirit was most vibrant at home, where she was a wonderful cook and a mother who embraced the joys and challenges of raising children with an open heart and a spirited nature.

She was known for her distinctive personality—spunky, stubborn, and determined—qualities that served her well in life and as a "Mother Bear" fiercely protective of her loved ones. Her proudest accomplishments were her sons, A J Biddle and Josh Biddle, who were the center of her world. Tena’s nurturing extended beyond her immediate family to the niece she raised as a daughter, Miranda Akins, a testament to her boundless capacity to love and care for others.

Tena’s life was enlivened by joyful memories that loved ones will forever hold dear: the playful freedom she gave her sons to just be boys, engaging in BB gun fights and martial arts sword fights, and the best pancakes ever made, which remain a cherished taste of her loving home. Her love for singing, especially the song "Love Can Build a Bridge," highlighted her hopeful and unifying spirit.

She is survived by her mother, Josephine Pedigo; her beloved sons, A J Biddle and his wife Heather and Josh Biddle; her niece raised as a daughter, Miranda Akins; her brother, Tim Pedigo, and his wife, Peggy; her best friend, Terrecia Brown, who was loved as a sister; and her grandchildren: Penny Brock, Zoey Brock, Owen Biddle, and Autumn Brown. Their lives were richly touched by Tena’s love and guidance.

Tena was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed Jr.; her father, Owen Rex Pedigo; her brother, Keith Pedigo; her sister, Jennifer Akins; and her niece, Savannah Akins.

A visitation will be held at T.W Crow and Son Family Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday June 12, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday June 13, 2026. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 p.m. on June 13, 2026, at T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Walkers Chapel Church Cemetery.

Tena Kay Reed’s legacy is one of fierce love, joyful memories, and an unyielding spirit. She will be forever remembered as a mother who let her children play freely, a wonderful cook, a devoted friend and family member, and a woman whose heart built bridges of love for all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her love and a community saddened by her loss but uplifted by the light she shared.
