Sammy Jean Lawrence

Sammy Jean Lawrence, age 90, died Friday May 7, 2021 at her residence in Madison, TN.

The Allen County native was the daughter of the late Roy Andrew Law and Gertie Binnion Law and was preceded in death by her husband Travis Murl Lawrence, daughter Vickie Lynne Lawrence, sister Merle McLaughin, and brother Gerald Law. Sammy was a lifelong member of City Road Methodist Church in Madison, TN. She retired from J. C. Penny’s in 1986 and loved reading quilting, genealogy, and family history and stories.  Her passion for reading lead to her volunteer work in Adult Reading programs in Madison. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by two sons Richard Doyle Lawrence (Hilda) of Bowling Green, KY, and Johnny Alan Lawrence of Inglewood, TN, three grandchildren Melissa Hill of Fort Walton, FL, Chad Lawrence (Heather) of Alvaton, KY, and Darrell Lawrence of Franklin, KY, and two great grandchildren Ethan and Leigha Lawrence.

Visitation will be Monday May 10, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be Monday May 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
