Robert Stanton Goad, affectionately known as Bob, was born in Scottsville, Kentucky on February 4, 1931. He departed this life on February 16, 2026, in Newberry, Florida, leaving behind a legacy steeped in service, family, and music.
Bob devoted twenty years of his life to serving in the United States Air Force, embodying the principles of duty and honor. Following his military career, he embraced the roles of father and Christian with great pride and commitment. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Barbara Jean Goad, and his two sons, Bobby Goad and Chris Goad. His grandson, Bay Louis Goad, also carries forward his memory. Bob is remembered by his nephews, Frank R. Goad, Hutchins Goad, Cal Turner Jr., and Pat Goad, as well as his niece, Margaret Hawkins, who cherished the memories they shared together.
An accomplished musician, Bob's love for music was evident through his talent as a trumpet player and songwriter. His early years showcased his passion for music when he earned superior ratings at the WKU music festival during high school. He also received the Harris Height award and in Morgan Preparatory School, he garnered the declamation award as a freshman with his grand prize being a one dollar bill, a testament to his ability to engage and inspire others.
Bob was known for his handsome demeanor and his enjoyment of life. He treasured memories with his family, who were central to his being. In his final days, he was surrounded by love, passing away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side.
He is predeceased by his mother, Anna Laura Kemp Goad, father, Francis Roark Goad, brothers, Francis Roark Goad Jr. and William Ray Goad, sister, Laura Katherine Goad Turner, and nephews, William R. Goad Jr. and Stanton Goad.
Visitation for Robert Stanton Goad will be held on February 26, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at T.W Crow and Son Family Funeral Home located at 201 N Court St, Scottsville, Kentucky.
Bob's life was marked by love, music, and unwavering commitment, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to ASPCA in Bob's memory.
