December 16, 1988 – December 20, 2017
Paul Kristian Oliver, 29, departed this life for Heaven on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Paul was born in Bowling Green, KY on December 16, 1988, the third son of Ferrell and Paula Oliver. He grew up on a dairy farm in Scottsville, KY, taking great pride in showing the family’s herd of Guernsey cattle at local, state, and national agricultural fairs. Paul was baptized on March 30, 1997 at Scottsville Baptist Church where he was a member. He and his wife were currently attending Southeast Christian Church – Indiana Campus. He graduated from Allen-County Scottsville High School in 2007, then attended Eastern Kentucky University where he was actively involved in the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Paul graduated from EKU in 2011 with a degree in Criminal Justice and pursued a job in law enforcement.

He became a sworn officer with Louisville Metro Police on December 4, 2013 and was promoted to detective on March 19, 2017. Becoming a police officer was a realization of Paul’s life long dream. He was excited to be able to serve his community and make a difference in the lives of others. He cared deeply about all the members of his platoon and considered them members of his family.
Paul married the love of his life, Katie, on February 16, 2017 which was followed by a beautiful wedding on July 1, 2017. Paul and Katie met through mutual friends and a whirlwind romance ensued. Excited to start their lives together, they made their home in Lanesville, IN. Paul cherished every moment with his wife. Their favorite time was anytime spent together. He was her faithful, devoted, loving and affectionate protector. We will forever know that God wrote their love story.
Paul was known for his warm smile, wonderful laugh and his endearing disposition. He had a great sense of humor and loved to share that with others. There wasn’t a room which he walked into that he didn’t bring smiles and fun. Words cannot adequately describe the loss we feel, but we find comfort in the knowledge that we will be one day be reunited with Paul and we will spend eternity with Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior.
