Martha Ann Wood

Martha Ann Akin Wood, age 95, died Saturday September 13, 2025 in Murfreesboro, TN.

Born in Simpson County Kentucky on May 7, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Henry Wilson Akin and Beulah Gladys Finn Akin and was preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Hendricks with whom she lived in Franklin KY with and her second husband William W. Wood of Scottsville, her son Donald Hendricks, three sisters, Mary Evelyn (Akin) Mooneyhan, Hazel (Akin) Hendricks and Jean (Akin) Warf and a nephew, James H. Mooneyhan and wife Hannalore.

Ann was a former resident of Scottsville, having lived in Scottsville for over fifty years. She was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church and worked a variety of jobs including; Kendal Company in Franklin, KY, Carter Motor Company, and General Electric both in Scottsville, KY.

She is survived by her two sons Steven R. Hendricks and his wife Brenda (Kilgore) of Murfreesboro, TN and Karman L. Wood and his wife LeAnn (Cowart) of Bentonville, AR, three grandchildren; Matthew S. Hendricks, Boston MA, Madilyn (Wood) Houge, Bentonville, AR, and Mason L. Wood, Bentonville, AR, two nephews, D. Leon Mooneyhan and spouse Carol Beth Grow of Shelbyville, KY and Benjamin Wark and spouse Cindy Warf of Boston, MA and one niece, Beth Warf of Richmond, KY. Ann was also fortunate to have one great niece, one great nephew, three great great nieces and six great great nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 16, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Crescent Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Scottsville Baptist Church.
