Anita Brooks

Lois Anita Brooks, age 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care.

The Scottsville native was born September 29, 1952 to the late Floyd B. Miller and Cleona (Gardner) Miller.

Anita was a proud Allen County- Scottsville High School graduate. After high school, she graduated Lois- Glyn School of Beauty Culture and started her career as a beautician, working at both Princess Beauty Shop and Vanity Beauty Shop over the years where she created lifelong friendships. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Abounding Grace Ministries.

Her memories will be cherished by her sister, Marcella Cook; her daughter, Cindy Hanson; her son, Jeff Lyle; grandchildren: Heather, Ashley, Destiny, Dave Junior “Lucky”, Damian, Trayson, Harley, Lita Marie, Danica Jordan “D.J”, and Tyler; 17 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jason Cook (Sherry); two great-nephews, Sam and Ben Cook.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mt. Union General Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
