Dr. John Melvin Hall

Dr. John Melvin Hall, age 80, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Medical Center at Scottsville.
The Magoffin county, KY native was the son of the late Dr. Lloyd Melvin Hall and Virginia Elizabeth Harrod Hall. Dr. Hall, and Army veteran, was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Phi Delta Theta, a former member of the American Medical Association and Kentucky Medical Association. Member of Scottsville Rotary Club being awarded the Paul Harris Fellow and serving as past president. He was a Scottsville Hometown Hero and served the community through many civic duties.
He is survived by his wife, Birdie Dell Hall, of Scottsville, two daughters, Beth McGinty and husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant SC and Vera Gothard and husband Richard of Scottsville, Ky., three sons, John S. Hall Sr. of Scottsville, Ky., Daniel L. Hall and wife Mary Jane of Danville, Ky., Michael E. Hall and wife Julie of Danville, Ky., one brother Dr. William Hall and wife Susanna of Somerset, Ky. one sister Margaret Sturdivant, of Reno, NV, sixteen grandchildren and eight great grand children.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM CDT Friday May 22, 2015 at the T.W. Crow and Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will resume 9:00 AM CDT until service time Saturday May 23, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM CDT Saturday May 23, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Burial will be 2:00 PM EDT Sunday May 24, 2015 in the James McHenry Davis Cemetery in Paintsville KY.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church Building Fund or the Laura Turner Dugas Foundation.
