Obituary for John "Jay" Covington IV

A Celebration of Life Service for John “Jay” E. Covington IV, 37, will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Tonya Kenner will officiate. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service, Saturday.

He was a Frankfort native, and a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a carrier for Fed Ex, and an EMT/ Fireman. He died Wednesday at Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.

Survivors include his daughter, Emersyn Covington; mother, Linda Kay Woodruff, Lexington; father and step-mother, John Ewin and Mendy Covington, III; half-sister, Hannah Covington, all of Frankfort; uncle, Jack Woodruff, Lexington; and great aunt, Romanza Johnson, Bowling Green.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jane and Kenneth “K” Woodruff; paternal grandparents, John E. Covington, Jr. and Ada “Dickie” Covington; and a great uncle, Ralph E. Johnson.
