Earline Frost, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Cal Turner Specialty Care and Rehab, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 21, 1941, in Scottsville, Kentucky, she lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Earline graduated from Allen County High School in the class of 1958 and furthered her education at Bowling Green Business College. Her career at Dollar General Corp spanned many years, where she played a vital role in the early development of the Dollar General Literacy program, fostering a love for reading and education within her community.
She was a woman of many talents and interests, known for her witty sense of humor, her infectious smile, and her generous spirit. Her family fondly remembers her cheerful kitchen filled with sweet memories—making Christmas cookies using the cookie press and her unique gravy that left everyone guessing whether it would be sliced or poured. A lover of nature, she enjoyed watching hummingbirds and squirrels, growing roses, and indulging in her passion for reading and writing poetry. Earline had a particular fondness for UK men's basketball games and loved engaging her intellect through Scrabble and trivia games.
Earline was deeply entrenched in her faith and devoted to serving the Lord throughout her life. She actively participated in her church community at the Scottsville Church of the Nazarene, where she took on numerous roles including Sunday School teacher, Missionary Society President, and church treasurer. Her service earned her the Distinguished Service Award from the church and the Key to the City of Scottsville, affirming her impact on those around her.
Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Sheila Jones (Neal) and Diane Painter (Mark), and her son, Stephen Frost (Tina). Earline's joy and love are carried forth by her grandchildren - Jennifer Parkhurst, Jessica Weeks (Aaron), Breahna Frost, Ciara Frost, Abryelle Frost, and Alan Jones (Kristin) - as well as her great-grandchildren, Abi Ross, Owen Painter, Grayson Parkhurst, Christopher Parkhurst, Emori Parkhurst, Henry Eagles, Carter Eagles, and Parker Jones.
She is also survived by her dear siblings, Shirley Conner, Loretta Bumpus, and Stanley Shields.
Earline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Frost, and her parents, Earl Shields and Mamie Tabor Shields. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Shields, Hoyt Shields, and Carline Shields.
Her family invites all who knew her to join them in celebrating her life and sharing memories that reflect the joy and warmth she brought into their lives. Visitation will be held at T.W. Crow and Son Family Funeral Home in Scottsville on February 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on February 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Celebration of Life service will take place on February 13, 2026, at the same location at 2:00 PM.
Earline Frost will be remembered for her loving heart, her generous spirit, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
